Heroes of Grìhim
From the dìonadair lùth to the dubhars, Grìhim has the highest concentration of heroes in all of earthasia!
What is a hero?
A hero is used in reference to a person, or otherworldly being, that has been employed or blessed by the Riahlais, the Grìhim branch of the Earthasian Government.Despite the propaganda, not everyone can be a hero. Heroes undergo rigorous training and testing in preparation for a debut battle, which is when they will be assessed against a real criminal. On average, only 6% of trainees (which are commonly referred to as fandingi)survive and pass the first training circle.
Types of heroes
To make it simple, there are roughly five different categories of heroes. However, who knows how many subcategories there could be?
Each hero has a unique fighting style and battle strategy, but can often be simplified into one of these categories:
Elementals
Elemental Heroes are most commonly associated with the primal elements, (earth, air, fire, water) but occasionally you may find a hero which links themself with the chemical elements, such as carbon, argon or even uranium or krypton. Elementals are often deadly, yet predictable to an observant criminal.Unlike Dubhars, which are the only group to harness actual draoid tendrils (magic), Elementals use technology and engineering to alter and use the elements around them to their will.
dìonadair lùth
Dìonadair Lùth are Heroes which have no particular quirk, but are often individuals whom have trained and prepared their whole life for heroism- note that this type often have harder tests Dit is easier to apply. Dìonadair Lùth, often simplified to just 'the Dions', must have mastered at least three matrial arts of their choosing. They specialise in close, hand to hand combat. The Dìonadair Lùth often keep to themselves, preferring to work in tight knit teams ranging from two to four heroes compared to usual government-assigned Leagues of seven or eight mixed ability heroes.
Dubhar
The Dubhars are the only official separate branch of the Grìhim Hero Foundation (g.h.f) where heroes are conscripted. Dangerous when not trained from an early age, Dubhars are the core of the G.H.F, and they are the only known ones whom are able to wield the fabled Draoid Tendrils. This enables them to have certain magical powers and properties, which can range from a mundane affinity for gardening to Pyrokinesis (the ability to control, and under certain circumstances create, fire with one's mind.)Please note these heroes cover a wide range of abilities.
Otherworldly Beings
One of the broadest and most vague categories, otherworldly being heroes simply refer to heroes of another planet. Heroes from this category may fit into another category, however if they have an unknown or incredibly niche and specific hero type they may just be sectioned here.
Foreign Heroes
Similar to otherworldly beings, a foreign hero is referring to a hero from another country. This category exists since each continent has a unique way of sorting and classifying heroes. (Barring the thieves' quarter, where magic and criminals run wild.)Again, a foreign hero may or may not fit into another category. Since each continent has different types of heroes, as the land shapes the power, they have their own category.
